C-MENT’s 50th Production

Thank you, Peñasquitos Lutheran Church!

In June 2017, C-MENT celebrated its epic 50th all-age production “Fiddler on the Roof.” It was a wonderful time to reflect and thank God for the blessing that PLC has been and for all the people who have contributed to C-MENT over the years.

A cornerstone of C-MENT has always been the partnership with parents and families whose support never let the ministry waver. Additionally, the creation, inclusion and on-going commitment of utilizing custom-written Bible studies solidified the faith bond between adults, youth and young children and “CEMENTED” the purpose behind everything we did on stage. C-MENT has helped young performers grow in their own faith, becoming in effect, worship leaders as well as using their talents and spiritual gifts to glorify God. It is our hope C-MENT continues to draw people to Christ, strengthen families, make disciples and share Christ’s love with the community.

C-MENT’s Dedicated Directors

C-MENT was started by Marie Weir in 1993 as a children’s musical theater built on the foundation of the church. This ministry has grown over the last 24 years due to the love for children and dedication of spreading God’s Word by many parent volunteers, but, most importantly, the passionate leadership of C-MENT’s directors:

  • Marie Weir, 1993 – 1997
  • Margie Holland, 1998
  • Crystal Verdon, 1999 – 2000
  • Catherine Henry, 1999 – 2002, 2005
  • Betty King,  2003 – 2020
  • Adele Buffington, 2001 – present
