May 3, 2019 l Cinderella Newsletter #1
Welcome to the C-MENT Summer 2019 Season!
As most of you know, I’m Betty King and I am the Director of C-MENT! This will be C-MENT’s 54th C-MENT production and I am so excited to be here! I have had the opportunity to watch some of you grow in so many ways over the years and I look forward to continue to do so in the years to come. For those of you who are new, I bid you welcome and look forward to getting to know you. I know that this show will be a blessing to all of us involved! A production of this magnitude requires a lot of work and support and prayers from all of us. I pray that God will guide all of us and help us make this a meaningful and spiritual experience.
You have a script and rehearsal schedule. The script is yours to keep. Please highlight your lines and/or parts in the songs. The sooner you have the songs memorized, the sooner we will be able to start working on your characters, dance and blocking (movement on stage). You are to bring a pencil to each rehearsal with the script so that you may write down your blocking. Providing a highlighter pen and 3-ring binder for your music is also highly recommended.
Please practice your music daily. An online folder has been created so that you can access downloadable music files to listen to at any time. Please email Adele Buffington for access to that folder.
Please take a moment to look at the rehearsal schedule and make sure you have recorded all the dates and times in your personal calendars. The schedule is to help you know what scenes and songs will be rehearsed on each day. You should review the required song before coming to rehearsal to be better prepared. It is clearly marked when youngers are dismissed. If there is no indication, that means youngers are needed to stay through the entire rehearsal.
We will continue to email a newsletter to keep you informed about important details. The newsletters will cover props that we need, as well as special costumes and/or accessories you might need to bring.
Please be respectful of our church and church grounds. We trust that our C-MENT cast can be responsible and respectful of others and that you will not disrupt other meetings that are in session. Please don’t run around outside while waiting for rides. Youngers are to wait in the Sanctuary for their parents to pick them up. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
If you can’t make a rehearsal, please text Cathy Pence. Please feel free to call, text or email me anytime with other questions or concerns about the production.
